Quantity Surveyor

Based in Site Office, Nilai.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning/ Tender/ Reviews of contract and sub-contract work schedule and implementation strategy.
  • Preparation of cost estimation/project budget/cash flow based on preliminary or detail design.
  • Preparation of bill of quantities (BQ)/tender document and invite contractor/sub-contractor to tender for the project.
  • Responsible for quantities and contracts matters of the project assigned.
  • Responsible on pre-contract of tender, cost planning, budget estimates and post-contract of site valuation, preparation of progress certificate, variation orders, final accounts, procurement, monitoring of material and construction cost.
  • Develops the estimates and provides support in obtaining materials and subcontract pricing in conjunction with the project team requirements.
  • Able to source for sub-contractors/suppliers and negotiate for competitive prices.
  • Reviews specifications and drawings to determine scope of work, costing structures, contractual requirements, as well as preparing the letter of award to sub-contractors.
  • Preparations of progress claim to main contractors and prepare and evaluate subcontractor's claim and payment certificate.
  • Conduct site valuation.
  • Liaise with main contractors, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers and relevant authorities.
  • Coordinate with management for preparation of variation order, bill of quantity, etc.
  • To carry out site valuation with sub-contractor on % of work done.
  • To prepare and submit regular daily, weekly or monthly site or production report to higher management.
  • Responsibility to supervised and monitoring all matter pertaining as ad-hoc, understanding of drawing with explanation to site (Production & Engineering).
  • To prepare analysis of material used per month.

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess at least a Bachelor's Degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree, Engineering (Civil), Quantity Survey, Building or Construction Management or equivalent.
  • Fresh graduate are also encouraged to apply .
  • Required language(s): Bahasa Malaysia, English
  • Proficient in MS Excels and knowledge of AutoCad will be an added advantage.
  • Motivated with good working attitude. • At least 3 year(s) of working experience in the related field is required for this position.
  • Preferably specializing in Quantity Surveying or equivalent.

Project Engineer

Based in Site Office, Nilai.

Responsibilities:

  • To assist the Project Manager or Site Manager to plan, monitor and control daily works at the project site;
  • Responsibility for overall site planning, supervision, safety and quality system implementation;
  • To ensure all works are carried out in accordance to the drawings, specifications, plans, procedures and instruction. Check for discrepancies between structural, architectural and M&E drawings;
  • Attend site meeting and inspections, resolve technical / operational issues, report regularly on progress and monitor schedule;
  • Liaise with sub-contractor and consultants for the execution of works;
  • Ensure timely delivery of projects according to schedule;
  • Updating of project records for reporting purposes and submission of reports;
  • Undertake ad-hoc duties assigned by Project Manager related to Project execution.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Civil / Structural Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum 5 year experience in contracting environment in construction of structural projects.
  • Initiative, self-motivated, possess a strong drive and result oriented.
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Able to work under pressure to produce the desired result within the desired deadline.

 

Project Manager

Based in Site Office, Nilai.

Responsibilities:

  • Overall responsibility for all project work and selection / management of sub-contractors to ensure project is completed on time.
  • Coordinate with other department managers within the firm to ensure that project is not delayed.
  • Able to coordinate the consultant, contractors, specialist vendors and liaise with authorities on various approvals.
  • Prepare and review project progress reports, proposals, contracts and required documentations, coordinate & execute them to timely completion and handover.
  • To monitor and ensure the project is progressing positively in respect of cash flow, cost quality and time.
  • Overall management of the project budget, project cost monitoring and control.
  • Responsible for project matters which include but not limited to, quality and productivity management, checking of sub-contractor claims, site contractual matters, safety and health issues, site personnel, site progress vs. construction schedule, timely and accurate site reports.
  • Responsible in planning, preparing, monitoring and reviewing the project planning, development plan, project supervision with the objective of achieving the completion of the project developed within the targeted time frame, quality and cost.
  • To oversee, analyse and monitor the project development until the issuance of Certificate of Completion of making Good Defects and Certificate of Fitness for Occupation in order to complete the projects within the targeted time frame, quality and cost.
  • Handle contract tender, which includes souring for quotations, terms and cost negotiation and submission for management approval.
  • Ensure that all works carried out are in accordance to the drawings, specifications, construction plan, procedures method statements, etc.
  • Prepare and update monthly report of project, verify progress report and attending site meeting.
  • To monitor and ensure the project is progressing positively in aspect of cash flow, cost quality and time.
  • To manage and guide project team.
  • To coordinate with sub contractor.
  • To attend site meeting with consultants and clients and clients and organize internal meeting with subcontractor to resolve the technical and site logistic issues.
  • To lead, manage and monitor the construction team in terms of planning and implementing work, project site scheduling, supervision and quality control with the objective of ensuring project progresses smoothly and completed within the time frame.
  • Plan, schedule, conduct, coordinate and attend meetings with consultants, contractors and authorities
  • Develop, coordinate, plan and monitor all project related activities including managing consultants, subcontractors and authorities
  • Involve in project inception, feasibility studies/cost estimate, conceptual design, design development & construction management
  • Tender award, monitor site works progress, anticipate and resolve problems and contractual disputes
  • Submit and follow-up with local authorities on approval for planning, building plan and Certificate of Fitness
  • Liaise and coordinate with consultants, to ensure all projects are carried out according to work schedule, quality standards, within budget and of acceptable quality standard
  • To undertake any and all others duties and responsibilities as so instructed by the Management.

Requirements:

  • A Degree in Architecture / Civil Engineering / Mechanical Engineering / Electrical Engineering / Quantity Surveying or equivalent.
  • Minimum 10 years working experience in construction industry.
  • Experience in infrastructure, tourism, manufacturing and mixed development is an added advantage.
  • Registered with relevant Professional Body and Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) is an added advantage.
  • Energetic, dynamic, complex and diverse.
  • Able to manage multi-disciplinary works within a project including handling project planning, budget and cost control, safety and quality system implementation is essential
  • Good knowledge of construction standard operating procedures
  • Pleasant disposition and possess leadership quality
  • Good networking with contractors, suppliers and relevant parties
  • Able to work under pressure and deliver within committed deadlines
  • Good negotiation skills and experience in dealing with authorities.
  • Preferably with good planning, analytical, problem solving and time management skills.
  • Well-verse in MS Office and MS Project
  • Strong communication skills in both written and spoken English and Bahasa Malaysia
  • Initiative and strong interest in keeping up with the latest development in construction technology, statutory requirements, design concept, building contract, building materials and other building and construction industry related issues.
